Heather Hutchinson Perea

Teacher & Choreographer

Miss Heather was born and raised in New Jersey and attended The Dance Academy of North Jersey studying ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in dance from Mason Gross School of the Arts: Rutgers University in 2001. She studied modern dance under Randy James, Paulette Sears, Julia Ritter, Claudia Gittelman, John Evans, and Sean Curran. She studied ballet under Sherry Alban of the American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet, as well as with company members of The American Repertory Ballet in New Brunswick, NJ. Her choreography has toured with University Danceworks and has been presented at University Dance Day at Rutgers. Heather moved to New York in 2002, continuing study at Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Perridance, The Ailey School, and Jivamukti Yoga Center in many disciplines of dance and yoga. She was an Arts Educator/ Dance Artist with the School for Education in Dance and the Related Arts in Manhattan, one of New York's oldest dance education non-profit arts organizations. With EID, Heather performed and improved with other dancers, musicians, and performers in public and private schools and various venues throughout the five boroughs of New York City.  Heather became a certified yoga instructor in 2009 under the guidance of Yehoshua Shy Sayar and Tobias Fields, two well respected yogis from opposite coasts. She has taught yoga and the barre workout at Stone Creek Club and Spa in Covington as well as private lessons.  Over the last 14 years, Heather has taught ballet in NJ, NY, and LA. She loves teaching the structure and discipline of ballet and is so happy to be part of the KKD faculty and family.
