Karleen

Teacher and Choreographer

Born and raised in Mandeville, Karleen has danced and trained under Kelli Manville for 21 years. She has trained in Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Jazz, and was a part of the National Award winning KKD Competition Team.

Beginning as a Student Choreographer, she choreographed her first of many winning numbers in 2007, and assisted Kelli with choreography in the studio. Now she is part of the Kelli’s Kreative Dance faculty.  For the past 9 years she has taught Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Tap. Throughout the years, she has worked with both recreational and competitive students and has strived for each of her numbers to look clean and well put together. Karleen pushes her students to be artists and use the music and choreography to portray a story to the audience. She tries to instill that dancing is more than just moves to a song, that it is a piece of art. Karleen enjoys spending time with the kids and being a part of their lives.

Outside of the studio, Karleen works as a Graphic Designer for a local company.

“Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.”
